green-tea.jpgMacrobiotics, which means  "long life" in Greek was first used by Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, who said "let food by thy medicine and medicine thy food." It is a plant based diet comprised of whole grains like brown rice, barley, corn and millet as well as grain products like pasta and bread. It includes beans and the soy bean products like tofu, tempeh and miso as well as organically grown vegetables and fruits. Some people add a little fish or other animal food, if desired.
Countless thousands of people have healed themselves from serious, life-threatening diseases on the macrobiotic diet including heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Many were given only 2-3 months to live. Although macrobiotics has been widely acclaimed for its ability to prevent and reverse cancer as well as other serious conditions, it's virtually very effective for every health condition including acne, allergies, asthma, migraines, PMS, menopausal symptoms, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, digestive disorders as well as psychological conditions like depression and schizophrenia.
One of my favorite books is A Personal Peace by David Briscoe, who healed himself of schizophrenia and is now a happily married man with 4 children and is a highly esteemed macrobiotic counselor. The macrobiotic diet can be used alone or in conjunction with any type of medical or alternative therapies.
