Rosemary’s
interest in natural foods began as a young girl when her mother died of breast
cancer. Two years later she heard Michio Kushi, author of The Cancer Prevention Diet, speak on macrobiotics.
He said improving one’s diet could prevent and often reverse disease.
But, it wasn’t
until her own health began to deteriorate that she made serious changes to her diet. After attending the Kushi
Institute in Massachusetts and the Vega Study Center in California, she began to learn about the power of food. She continued her studies at the Strengthening Health Institute in Philadelphia and healed herself of migraines,
eczema and improved the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. She was certified by SHI in 2001 as a natural
health counselor and cooking instructor, fulfilling a life long dream to help others.
Rosemary holds a BS from Boston State College in Early
Childhood Education and was certified in 2003 by Dr. Antonia Demas to teach the Food is Elementary Curriculum. This program,
